We had a disappointment this week – just a temporary one! Bruce’s flight to Liberia fell to the chaos that is air travel right now. After an entire day at the airport and trying every possible way to get him there even two or three says late, we had to finally realize the door was closed. So we wrote to our national host that circumstances beyond our control were forcing us to postpone the classes in Liberia until March. February is full with Rwanda and Uganda.
Whiles we were pondering this first in our eleven years of training nationals, we got an update from Fidele Shinga. He was just finishing up a class in Burundi, the first ever for GBTF. God did a true miracle for Fidele. We will tell you about that some time. You must watch the videos that are linked below to see Fidele’s final word to those in his Burundi class!
Burundi Graduation
Fidele flew from Burundi to Ethiopia for a meeting to set up classes there in the next few months Everything is on track for a great ministry there.
Leaders in Ethiopia Meeting with Fidele
From Ethiopia, Fidele flew to Tanzania where he begins his second class in that nation.
Our disappointment quickly turned to rejoicing as we realized that God is at work even when we are hindered. Our disappointments are actually His appointments.
Thank you for praying and giving so that this work can multiply!
Global Baptist Training Foundation offers four levels of training in Hermeneutics, Basic Theology, Expositional Preaching, and Evangelism. For national pastors who desire training in the original biblical languages, we also offer extended training in this area. When it is possible to return to teaching sites twice a year, the training can be completed in as little as two years (without languages). ESL is also available to all of our students.
